Dance in the Clouds

Your first dance, on a cloud.

Low-lying fog rolls across the floor and settles ankle-deep, so the two of you appear to be dancing on top of a cloud. It is, without much competition, the most photographed ninety seconds of a reception.

The effect works because the fog stays down. Ordinary haze fills a room and washes everything out; this hugs the floor, holds its shape for the length of a song, and then dissipates. Your photographer gets a clean shot of your faces with a layer of white beneath you.

We set it up during dinner and trigger it on your cue, so it’s already rolling as you step onto the floor rather than appearing halfway through the song. It pairs especially well with a custom monogram or spotlight — the fog catches the light and the whole floor reads as one image.

Beyond the first dance, it’s equally striking for a father-daughter dance, a mother-son dance, or an anniversary couple’s dance.

Venue approval

We'll clear it before you count on it.

Some venues restrict fog effects, usually because of how their smoke detection is configured. We check with your venue as part of planning, so nobody finds out on the day. If it isn't permitted, we'll suggest an alternative that photographs nearly as well.

Want the cloud?

Tell us your date and venue and we'll confirm whether the effect is permitted there, plus what it costs with your package.
